Helping Our Neighbors in Emergencies

Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue

A group photo of some of our members taken in  2010

Welcome!

We are all volunteers ready to help our neighbors.

We respond to 911 fire and medical emergencies, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. In 2010, WVFR hit the road 620 times responding to  9-1-1 emergency calls. While a decrease of 13% compared to 2009, it’s more than double the number of calls experienced in 2001 ( 283 dispatches.) It’s also over 50% of all the 9-1-1 for the entire county. Although our primary responsibility is Washington, VA and its surrounding areas, we help other companies when needed.
