House Fire

A house partially burned in Boston, VA. Thankfully no one was injured by the fire that started in the basement. Fire companies from Amissville, Castleton, Sperryville and Washington in Rappahannock County and Salem in Culpeper County responded to the blaze, which started around 10:55 a.m.

Structure Fire - Castleton
On January 24, 2008 at 11:04 hrs companies were dispatched for a structure fire on Kidwell Lane.  Wagon 1 arrived first on the scene to find heavy smoke and some fire showing from a single story residence.  All Occupants were reported to be out of the residence by a neighbor.  Wagon 8’s crew advanced one hose line from Wagon 1 into the residence and knocked the fire down.  Chief 2 arrived on scene and took over command from Captain 2.  Crews from Sperryville, Amissville, Washington, and Salem ultimately extinguished the fire and completed salvage/overhaul.  The fire damaged 1 room, heat damaged an adjacent room, and the remainder of the house had smoke damage.
